ºÚÁÏÍø does not maintain a health care office or employ medical staff to provide medical care to students.
If a student experiences a medical emergency, ºÚÁÏÍø policy requires contacting the ºÚÁÏÍø Police Department at (903) 654-3999 and calling 911 to request appropriate emergency medical assistance. ºÚÁÏÍø Police officers are trained first responders.
Faculty, staff, and administrators are not administer medical treatment to a student or participate in transporting a student for medical care.
Students with medical conditions, such as seizure disorders or low blood sugar, may choose to confidentially share limited information with their instructor. Providing this information may help the instructor respond appropriately during an emergency. Disclosure of medical information is voluntary and is not required.
Students may also seek assistance from the Office of Accessibility and Accommodations regarding the disclosure of disability-related information and available accommodations.
