Frequently Asked Questions about the Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) Program.
Where is the ADN program offered?
The Traditional Registered Nursing (RN) program is only offered on the Waxahachie location. The Licensed Vocational Nursing to Registered Nursing (LVN-to-RN) Bridge program is offered on ºÚÁÏÍø-Waxahachie and ºÚÁÏÍø-Corsicana locations.
How can I take the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) entrance test?
Call the ºÚÁÏÍø Testing Center at (903) 875-7457 or (972) 923-6429 to schedule your exam. You can also visit the to locate other authorized testing sites. The TEAS must be taken at a testing location. The ºÚÁÏÍø ADN program will not accept TEAS scores for exams taken via remote proctoring.
May I apply before taking all the prerequisites?
No. All prerequisites must be completed before submitting application.
How many points do I need to be admitted to the ADN program?
The majority of ranking points are earned from the TEAS exam, along with the GPA from science prerequisite courses. The ADN Ranking Point system will be discussed in detail during the virtual information session.
Is there an expiration date on my science courses?

2027 applicants must have completed BIOL 2401 and BIOL 2402 no earlier than Spring of 2020. Students who have completed BIOL 2401 and/or BIOL 2402 more than seven (7) years ago and scored a C or better, can take BIOL 2404 as a refresher course.
Can I still work while attending the program?
It is not recommended that students work while attending the ADN Program. The schedule often requires students to attend class and/or clinical rotations throughout the week. Clinical rotations may also be scheduled on weekends, nights, and/or weekends.
Is the program offered online?
No. The ºÚÁÏÍø ADN program is a pre-licensure RN program, therefore students are required to have face-to-face learning activities throughout the week. While some courses are delivered in a hybrid/online format, the majority are delivered face-to-face.
When will I be notified of my admission status?
Admission decisions are sent via email after all applications have been reviewed and ranked. Notifications can be expected by April 1st. We kindly ask that applicants refrain from contacting the nursing office for status updates during this review period, as all applicants will be notified at the same time.
